Kikuchi Sake Brewery awarded in The International Wine Challenge 2017

Kikuchi Sake Brewery’s “Sanzen Junmai Daiginjo Genshu” (genshu: undiluted sake) won a gold medal in the International Wine Challenge 2017 in the Junmai Daiginjo class of the sake category.
The competition is the largest wine competition in the world. There were 341 entries in the Junmai Daiginjo class from different breweries; only 14 sakes were chosen to receive gold medals and “Sanzen Junmai Daiginjo Genshu” received the honor.
The award has emboldened the brewers’ to continue to produce the best sake they can.

Shiragiku Sake Brewery awarded in the International Wine Competition 2017

Sakes produced by Shiragiku Sake Brewery were awarded two silver stars and one bronze medal in the sake category in the International Wine Challenge 2017, the largest wine competition in the world.
The brewers commented, “We are so happy that we have continuously earned an honorable awards. We hope sake becomes a popular alcoholic beverage world wide.”

Miyashita Sake Brewery’s wins 2nd place in the gold grade in the Sake Competition 2017

In the Sake Competition 2017, Miyashita Sake Brewery’s “Junmai-Daiginjo Kiwami Hijiri Tenkano Shisei ” was awarded 2nd place in the gold grade in the super premium class, and “Kiwami Hijiri Daiginjo” was awarded 8th place in the gold grade in the Ginjo class.
Sake Competition 2017 had 1730 entries from 453 different breweries, which is the largest number of entries for any sake competition in the world.
There are six categories: Junmai, Junmai Ginjo, Junmai Daiginjo, Ginjo, Super Premium, Sparkling, and Overseas entries. The top ten sakes are awarded the gold grade, with the remainder of the top 10% awarded the silver grade in each category.
